Obituary

Wayne Edward Robbins was born to Earnest and Dora (Willard) Robbins April 18, 1936 in rural Pawnee County, Oklahoma. He attended country school and graduated from Pawnee High School in 1955. At an early age he had a love of animals and every aspect of farming. As a young man he was active in 4-H and FFA showing cattle and swine and land judging, earning many state and national honors. Wayne was drafted and served 2 years in the Army reserves in South Carolina.

On February 27, 1960 he married Yvonne Laird in Pawnee, OK. Their first home was on the original family homestead. As a young man Wayne committed his life to Christ and was faithful and active in the church, first the Masham Baptist Church in Oklahoma then later the Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Hamill, SD.

In 1973 Wayne and his business partner Merle Welker purchased land in Tripp County, South Dakota after traveling through the area on vacation. Wayne moved his family to SD just south of Hamill in 1976.  All of his life Wayne was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Wayne is survived by his wife Yvonne (Vonnie) Robbins of Hamill, Kathy (Steve) Morford of Spearfish, SD, Dawn (Rick) Adams of Morrison, OK, Amy Gregg of Carter, SD; grandchildren Kristin (Derek) Meyers, Kellie and Kara Morford, Justus, Jaynee, Jentry, Jude and Jett Gregg, Stacey and Dusty Adams; great-grandchildren Kooper and Ella Meyers, Gunner Adams, Kacen and Liam Adams. He is survived by one brother Roy Lee (Ann) Robbins and a sister Delcie Barrett of Pawnee, OK . Wayne leaves behind a host of family and friends especially Roger and Sue Robbins, Royce and Ashley Robbins and David Robbins who had joined the family farming operation over the years.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, brother Floyd Robbins, sister Leona Leforce, and nephew Jason (JR) Robbins.
