Wayne Noble, 85 of Colome, SD passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the Winner Regional Long Term Care Facility in Winner, SD.  Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 11:00AM at the First Christian Church in Winner, SD.  Private family burial will follow.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to memorial service.  Memorial service will be lived streamed through the First Christian Church Facebook page.

Wayne Leonard Noble, 85, passed away peacefully June 21, 2025 at the Winner Regional Long Term Care Facility.

Wayne was born September 12, 1939 to Elias C Noble and Millie (Konop) Noble in Winner, South Dakota.  He attended Winner High School and attended South Dakota State College graduating in 1961 with a degree in Animal Husbandry.  Wayne married Sharon Meeder October 2, 1962 also of Winner, being blessed with six children.

Wayne was required to pass the American Civil Corp test to become an employee of the United States Federal Government (USFG) in the State of South Dakota.  After passing this test he began working with the Soil Conservation Service in South Dakota for the USFG from graduation as the Range Conservationist in Sturgis, Hot Springs, and Martin, as the District Conservationist at White River, Herreid and Burke.  His final assignment was in Lake Andes as District Conservationist where he took the responsibilities of the Resource Conservation and Development coordinator in Charles Mix County and in the surrounding areas until his retirement in 1996.

Wayne was an avid horseman, training 47 horses for cutting and ranch work.  His favorite horse to work with was a Quarter horse.  Wayne valued the company of family and friends on many hunting and fishing trips within the state.  Fishing along the Missouri River with family brought him fond memories.  The trips he took to Montana, Alaska to hunt moose and Colorado to hunt elk were a treasure for him.

Wayne retired to Colome, SD where RP (retinitis pigmemtosa) claimed the rest of his eyesight.  He was well known for his positive attitude despite his blindness and did not let it keep him from community involvement.  He most enjoyed activities that helped people laugh with him.

Wayne is survived by his children, Renae (James) Kampa of Black Hawk, SD, Valerie Noble of Meckling, SD, Yvonne (Gavin) Clark of Beresford, SD, Wade Noble of Winner, SD, James (Mary) of Aurora, SD and Natalie (Derek) Keen of Crosby, Texas, and his former wife, Sharon Noble of Mitchell, SD.  He has 12 grandchildren, Rachel Kampa, Terrance (Ericka) Kampa, Robert (Casey) Osterberg, Heidi (Nathan) Evilsizor, Yolanda (Josh) Dirnberger, Lennea (Garrett) Olson, Claire, Andrew, and Theodore Noble and Adelaide, Aurora and Marigold Keen. He has 7 Great-grandchildren, Juniper Kampa, Kennedy and Gracen Osterberg, Isabelle, Issac, Melody and Noelle (+1) Dirnberger.

Wayne is survived by two siblings, Elias C Noble of Bellevue, Washington and Marsha (William) Gresham of Seattle, Washington as well as numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Elias and Millie Noble, his sister Mary Lou Peklo and brother in-law Robert Peklo.
