Vera Hesse LaPointe, 93, of Rosebud, SD passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the Rosebud Comprehensive Health Care Facility in Rosebud, SD. A wake service will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 starting at 12 and having a wake service at 7PM at the St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Rosebud, SD. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 10:00AM at the St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Rosebud, SD. Burial will follow in the Ironwood Community Cemetery.

Vera was born to Lema Bordeaux and Jacob LaPointe, February 20, 1926. She had at least 18 brothers and sisters, including halves.

She married John H. Hesse on November 11, 1945. They had 6 children; Sharie, Donna "Ree", Jan, John (Jr.), George and William "Bill". Together they had 20 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren (not counting the step and half grands"). They lived in several places including Seattle, Washington; Klamath Falls, Oregon; Portland, Oregon; Milwaukie, Oregon and finally settling in Ironwood/Rosebud South Dakota.

She met John working in the ship yard in Seattle. She worked in the clerical field most of her life and at one point, worked in a flower shop while in Oregon. She loved reading, doing crossword puzzles and playing solitaire while propped on her left arm across her bed.
