Sheila Paulson, 50, of Mitchell, SD passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2018 at 10:30AM at the Winner Methodist Church in Winner. Burial will follow in the Winner City Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2018 from 6-7PM at the Winner Methodist Church with a prayer service beginning at 7:00PM.
Sheila Rae Paulson (Janssen) entered into eternal peace on December 27, 2018 at Avera McKennan Hospital surrounded by her family.
Sheila was born on May 22, 1968 in Rosebud, South Dakota to Dixie Larvie. She attended Winner High School and went on to receive her Associates degree from Mitchell Technical Institute.
Sheila married Ray Paulson May 14, 1988 in Winner, SD. The couple resided in Winner until 1991, when they relocated to Mitchell, SD. They were blessed with three daughters, which Sheila took great joy in raising, leading and loving.
Sheila enjoyed many things in her lifetime; above everything else was the company of her friends and family. She could always be found with a book or crochet hook in hand and a smile on her face. Sheila was always an advocate for her children and grandchildren, who led with a strong will and with never ending encouragement. She spent many hours constructing macaroni art and finger paintings. Sheila was very passionate in her beliefs and morals, being sure to vocalize when the conversation drifted astray.
Thankful to have shared in her life were her husband of 30 years, Ray Paulson, Mitchell, SD; daughters: Tiffany (David) Hansen, Lawton, IA, Taramee (Triston) Paulson, Mitchell, SD, Tasha (Shelden) Paulson, Aberdeen, SD; her 5 beautiful grandchildren: Whitlee, Leilagh, Stella, Nash and Langley; her brothers: Hugo (Coni) Janssen, Mission, SD, Craig (Kelly) Littlebear, Mitchell, SD, and Douglas (Angela) Ekberg, Independence, MO; her mother-in-law, Sharon Bettcher, Winner, SD; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sheila was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Dixie Larvie; step-father, Doug Ekberg; sisters, Angela Littlebear and Stacy Black Elk; brother, John Ekberg; father-in-law, Ivan Paulson; grandmother Donna Larvie; and grandfather Andrew Larvie.
