Rozella Alexander, 84, of Winner, SD passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at the Winner Regional Long Term Care Facility in Winner, SD.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024 at 10:00AM at the Saint Isidore Catholic Church in Colome, SD.  Burial will follow in the Colome City Cemetery.  A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at the Saint Isidore Catholic Church from 5-6:00PM with a Rosary beginning at 6:00PM.

Rozella Mae (DeMers) Alexander was born on February 7, 1940 in Colome, South Dakota to Clarence Joseph and Hazel Joann DeMers.

She was the third oldest in her family of eleven and was the oldest girl.  She was the second mom to most of her siblings.  She tended to be a little bossy to her sisters growing up and they liked to call her "sissy bossy" and they still called her that throughout the years.

Rozella was married and had three children; Susan Rose, Joesph Chester and James Chester.  She loved being a mom and wanted many more children.

She lived many places throughout her life including Colome/Winner, Las Vegas, Nevada, Phoenix, Arizona and Oregon.  However, home and her happy place was Colome/Winner.  She loved going back to the farm and spending time walking around and recounting memories.

She loved her little home in Winner.  That was her little piece of heaven.  She loved decorating her front yard with all her crafts.  Her yard was voted best yard a few times by the town.

She loved her crafts. Between painting, crocheting, and anything in between, she could do it.  She was very creative.  She loved her flowers and rocks.  Many time she would have been seen picking up rocks so she could bring them home to paint them and give them to people.

She loved to go on walks with her dog Angel.  She loved to read an always had a book in hand.  She was a great cook, and everyone loved her cooking.  She loved going to church every week.  She had a very strong testimony in God and his son Jesus Christ.

She was the definition of strong.  She was strong willed, determined, and some might even say stubborn, even in her last moments on earth.  She never complained, one would never know if she was going through a hard time, because she had a good attitude.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter: Sue (Matt) Colman of Logandale Nevada; Joe (Sherry) Alexander of Las Vegas Nevada and Jim (Shelly) Alexander of Las Vegas Nevada; nine grandchildren: Andy (Elana), Brady (Adrian), Shawn (Michelle), Kari (Natalie), Zac, Dolly (Eric), Ashley (Derek), Briauanna, and Easton; seven great-grandchildren; Mason, Jayden, Mia, Furst, Emmett, Bailen and Preston and 3 sisters; Carol (Bob) Simonson, Sarah (Lyle) Krumpus and JoAnn (Dean) Vogt and 6 brothers; Denny (Shirley) Duane (Sandy), Dick (Terry), Gary (Connie), Kevin (Janet) and Doug (Diane) DeMers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 4 unborn children and brother Fred DeMers.
