Roger Schwandt, 76, of Colome, SD passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at the Winner Regional Healthcare Facility in Winner, SD after a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.  Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 1:00PM at the Mason Funeral Home in Winner, SD.  Burial will follow in the Hamill Cemetery.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to funeral service.

Roger was born at the Winner Hospital on June 10, 1948 to William Schwandt and Helen (Schlander) Schwandt.  Roger went to school at a Rural School Center Moss for 8 years.  He graduated from Winner High School in 1966.

Roger joined his dad William and his two uncles (Howard and Herman Schlander) in farming and cattle operation south of Hamill, South Dakota.  A few years later he married Char Martin of Mission, South Dakota in April of 1976.

In 1978 he went into farming with his brother Allen Schwandt and Allens wife Ellen.  In 1997 Roger went on a new adventure combining his two favorite things.  Harvesting and driving.  He went to work for Altendorf Harvesting out of Minto, North Dakota.

Roger came back to the farm in 2004 to help Allen and his nephew Travis.  Rogers biggest joys were simple.  Someone to talk with and somewhere to go.  Roger enjoyed spending time with his family the most. Allen and Ellen, Travis and Carissa and their two children, Barrett and Sienna.

Roger was so proud of his nephew Travis and what his family had accomplished over the years it brought Roger so much joy to visit about Travis and the farm.

He will be greatly missed.
