Robert Brandis of Mission, age 78, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025. A celebration of Bob's life will be held at a later date.

Robert Eugene Brandis, was born February 21, 1946, in Wall, SD to Cecil and Martha (Bechtold) Brandis. Bob spent most of his life in White River, SD, but also traveled the United States as an Ironworker for many years. Bob was married to Margo Heinert and they lived in Fort Pierre, SD for a few years and settled in Mission in 2007.

In 2007, Bob was part of the partnership that purchased the Prairie Hills Square Steakhouse and Golf Course in Mission. He was one of those guys who could fix anything but working iron, riding motorcycles and driving fast cars were what he enjoyed most.

Bob was often viewed as a quiet man, but for those who knew him well, they knew and appreciated his quick wit and loyal friendship. His children often talked of his patience and willingness to teach them life skills. He was a fun dad and grandpa and enjoyed a game of cribbage or pitch with friends and family. For many years he enjoyed attending Kool Deadwood Nites with Margo, his son Cactus, and Scott & Dotty Hieb, Kevin & Deb Hieb, and Paul and Jackie Heinert.  He liked viewing all the great cars and was never one to step away from a Bacardi/Pepsi. One of his greatest joys was being "Papa Bob". He especially got a kick out of letting them drive his Corvette (against their parents' wishes), taking them to the drive-in for Coke Freezes, having them run his errands and making his special spaghetti supper anytime upon request.

Grateful for sharing and celebrating his life are his wife, Margo, sons Cactus Brandis and Troy Heinert (Gena), and Daughter Kylee Heinert (Shawn); Grandchildren TJ, Jordan, Harold, Connor, and Avery; and three great-granddaughters, Aubrayla, Solana and Adalaina, his brothers Cecil Jr. and Terry Brandis; a special sister-in-law Mary Brandis, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Martha, his sisters Julie and Theresa.
