Richard Hantsbarger, 71, of White River, SD passed away on Wednesday, September 25 ^th , 2019 at his home in White River, SD.  Memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 10 ^th , 2019 at 1:00PM at the English Lutheran Church in Ellsworth, Wisconsin.  Burial will follow at a later date.

Richard was born on June 28, 1948 at Cherokee, Iowa to Wilbur and Vera (Cuthrell) Hantsbarger Jr.

Richard lived in White River, South Dakota and attended Meriden School and graduated from Meriden- Clegborn High School in May of 1967.  He joined the Iowa Army National Guard in 1997 and completed basic training in Fort Dix, New Jersey.  The Guard was activated and he served at Ft. Carson, Colorado until November of 1969.

Richard was married on July 12, 1969 to melba Gaskill and to that union three children were born; Heidi Heather and Heath.  They divorced in 1989.  He then married Kathy (Jensen) Reinke.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents Wilbur and Vera Hantsbarger, Jr., daughter Heather in 1981, paternal and maternal great-grandparents and grandparents, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is survived by is wife Kathy of White River, SD, a son Heath Hantsbarger of Somerset, WI; a daughter Heidi Meadows (Ray) of Ellsworth, WI;3 grandchildren; Tyler, Tiffany and Trevor Hantsbarger of Somerset, WI; 2 step-grandchildren, Roman Meadows (Emily) and Mayah Meadows both of River Falls, WI, brother Loren Hantsbarger of White River, SD aunts, uncles, and cousins.
