Mona Sharkey, age 46, passed away on April 24, 2016 at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Winner Ideal Community Hall in Winner. A lunch will follow the service. A Wake service will be held at 7:00PM Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Winner Ideal Community Hall in Winner.

Mona DuBray Sharkey, 46, made her journey to the spirit world on April 24th, 2016 with her loved ones by her side. She was brought into this world by Mary Lou Peneaux and John Hugh DuBray Sr. on March 24th, 1970 in Pine Ridge, SD.

Mona is a free spirited, strong and soft hearted woman with an unconditional love for her family and friends. With unwavering loyalty, she wanted nothing but the best for her loved ones. Mona was an adored Grandma and Nana, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend who was loved by all who knew her. She always had a special connection with children, and cherished her time spent with her grandchildren as they held a very special place in her heart. She will forever be remembered for her captivating smile, witty sense of humor, signature sarcasm and contagious laughter. Although she will be deeply missed, we find comfort in knowing that she is reunited in Heaven with her beloved Mother and other loved ones, and that we will see her beautiful, smiling face again.

She is survived by her sisters Fern DuBray, Tuscon AZ, Molly DuBray, Sioux Falls SD, Larry & Ethel (DuBray) Sharkey, Rapid City SD,  Lee and Kathy (DuBray) Peneaux, Winner SD,  Janice DuBray, Watertown SD,  Eric and Johanna (DuBray) Poor Thunder, Joe and Lynette (DuBray) Poor Thunder, Bill and Nichole (DuBray) Klatt, brothers John II and Lola DuBray, Martin SD, Andy & Crystal DuBray, Winner SD, Jason & Jerilyn DuBray, Rapid City SD, Nicholas DuBray; her children, Shakia Sharkey, Mitchell SD, Schylar DuBray, Mitchell SD, her grandchildren, Izabella Sharkey, Marcus Sharkey, Eyden Sharkey, numerous nieces and nephews

She is proceeded in death by her mother Mary Lou Peneaux, father John Hugh DuBray Sr, brother Leo DuBray , infant sisters and many other loved ones

Mona's angel wings were ready, but our hearts were not.

In Mona, we lost our protector on Earth, but gained a guardian angel in Heaven.
