Marvin Moseman, 93, of Winner, SD passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at the Winner Regional Long-Term Care Facility in Winner.  Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 19 ^th , 2019 at 10:30AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Winner, SD.  Burial will follow at the Winner City Cemetery.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to funeral service on Friday.

Marvin Thomas Moseman was born October 4 ^th , 1925 on a farm near the headwaters of the Mississippi River near Bemidji, Minnesota.  He grew up on the Moseman farm in Todd County, South Dakota.  Marvin attended school in the Todd County School District.

Marvin and Evelyn were married on June 30 ^th , 1951 and lived on the farm until Marvin was drafted into the US Army in January 1952.  He received his basic training at Camp Picket, VA and medical training at Fort Sam Houston, TX and Camp Polk, LA.  After traveling by train to Seattle, WA he sailed to Japan and then Korea where he spent a year with the 3 ^rd Ambulance Co. near the DMZ.  At the end of his tour of duty he sailed to San Francisco, CA and then traveled to Camp Carson, CO where he was discharged.

Marvin returned to the farm in Todd County where he raised cattle and grew crops of wheat and hay until turning the farm over to his sons.  Marvin also spent time each winter trapping and snaring furbearers and predators to help increase the pheasant population on his land.
He and his family spent several summers growing produce and selling it locally, providing residents of the nearby towns with a small farmers market.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Evelyn, older brother Daryl who was killed in the Pacific fighting against the Japanese during WW2.  He was also preceded in death by his first son Marvin Jr. who passed away as an infant.

Marvin is survived by his twin brother Martin, four sons; Carl, Tony, Jim and Curtis, one daughter Rose Ann (Scott) Herrboldt, three granddaughters, five grandsons, two great-granddaughters and one great-grandson.
