Marlin Erickson, 79, of Winner, SD passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at the Winner Regional Long-term Care Center in Winner, SD. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 10:00AM at Mason Funeral Home in Winner, SD. Burial will follow at the Graceland Cemetery in Burke, SD. A visitation will be 1 hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday, October 20, 2018.
Marlin was born September 28th, 1939 in Fairfax, SD, to Clarence and Marina (Suing) Erickson. He grew up in Fairfax, SD.
He graduated from Winner High School in 1958. After graduation he worked as a carpenter for George Drapeau. Marlin worked for Grossenburg & Son from 1963 to 1999, 36 years.
On March 18th 1960, Marlin married the love of life Carolyn. To this union two children were born Jeff and Julie.
Marlin enjoyed fishing and hunting. He went on lots of fishing trips with his brother Arlie. Once on vacation out to California he got to go deep sea fishing with his brother Vernon and brother-in-law Joe. I'm sure there were lots of tall tales to tell. He also enjoyed pheasant hunting with his family and friends.
Marlin is survived by his wife Carolyn of 58 years, two children, Jeff of Winner, SD and his son Nathan of Vermillion, SD, and Julie of White Lake, SD, and her children Chad, Chris, Corey, and Crystal. As well as lots of great grandchildren.
Marlin is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Arlyce Wortman, Bernetta Janak, Arlan Erickson, and Elvis Erickson, and Nephew Brent Janak.
