Marilyn Anne (Dimond) Galbraith was born March 18th, 1942, in Winner, SD to Florence and Wendell Dimond. Marilyn returned to her heavenly home on July 26th, 2026. She passed peacefully in her sleep at Avera Rosebud Country Care Center. She was 84 years old.

Marilyn lived in rural Wood, SD for her entire life. While in high school, Marilyn met the love her life, Lee Galbraith, and they were united in marriage on June 18th, 1960, one month after her graduation. A union centered on love, care, and unyielding support was formed and to this matrimony, three sons and one daughter were born.

During their 58 years of marriage, they ensured the success of their farming and ranching business. Between the countless hours taking care of the hogs, chasing the children around, and tending to the garden; Marilyn still found time to enjoy her passions in life. Which included being an incredible host to her family and friends, always challenging someone to a game of dominos or cards, and ensuring nobody ever left her house without a full stomach, whether they were hungry or not. Most importantly, she had an innate ability in turning a house into a home and making sure that everyone felt welcome and taken care of. This ability was further displayed during her time selling Home Interior, where she made numerous friends and touched even more lives.

However, her biggest passion in life was guiding children in their education. Marilyn spent her entire life dedicated to the nourishment of young minds. She volunteered her time to the Wood School for numerous years and eventually took a position at the Colome School District as a teacher's aide. She served her community on the Wood School Board, the Fairview Township Board, and the United Church of Christ Board.

For many years, Lee and Marilyn enjoyed their time in Zapata, Texas. Marilyn loved to entertain friends at their home after Jam Session with her famous apple pie and homemade ice cream while they played pitch.

Marilyn is survived by her son Gary of Winner, SD and his children Kelsey, Grant, and Calli, her son Todd (Carol) of Winner, SD and his children Ashley, Sharee, and Nathan, her son Brett (Jenny) of Wood, SD and his daughters Alexis and Alyssa, and her daughter Sherry (Galbraith) Lantz of Winner, SD and her children Nick and Katy, her sister Shirley Bruning of Gillette, WY and her sister Karen and her husband Glenn Harris of Rapid City, SD, her brother Ronnie and his wife Linda and her brother Burton and his wife Mary, both of Wood, SD. As well as nine great grandchildren, family, and friends.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband Lee, her parents Florence and Wendell Dimond, her in-laws Lona and Stanton Galbraith, her brother Larry, her sister Illa Derry, her granddaughter Christina, her brothers-in-law James Hudgins, Jerry Bruning, and Allen Tucker.
