Obituary

L yle Vosika, 81 of Winner, SD passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019 after a battle with dementia.  Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 3rd, 2019 at 2:00PM at the United Methodist Church in Winner, SD.  Burial will follow in the Winner City Cemetery.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to funeral service on Friday.

Lyle was born in Clearfield, SD on April 17, 1938 to Victor and Thelma (Legge) Vosika.  Lyle attended school in both Winner and Gregory graduating from Winner High School in 1956.    After graduation Lyle enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served his country for 3 ½ years.  He was stationed in New Mexico and England.

He then returned to Winner.  On December 21, 1961 Lyle was united in marriage to Sharon Wendelboe.  To this union 4 children were born.  His many talents led him to work at Winner Co-op, DX Station, Midwest Auto, Paul Blomstrom Ranch, Jorgensen Angus, Tripp Co. Weed Board and Vosika Spraying.  Lyle also proudly served on the Winner Volunteer Fire Department.  Lyle was a simple man and appreciated the little things in life.  He had a booming personality.  He was full of stories, inappropriate comments, many "one liners" and couldn't help himself to tease.  He had a life long love for hunting, fishing, gardening, playing cards and good jokes.  He would have wanted a short service, if any, and a gathering after for friends and family to enjoy.

Those grateful for sharing his life are his wife Sharon of 57 years, children Penny (Rocky) Faldalen, Tad (Lori) Vosika, Pam (David) Dvorak and Corey (Sandy) Vosika.  Grandchildren; Rachel (Matt) Deutsch, Christopher (Erin) Vosika, Loni (Kyle Cummings) Vosika and Dani (Kyle) Bertsch.  Great-Grandsons; Dekker and Mason Vosika, Weston and Witten Deutsch, brothers; Calvin and Jack Vosika and sisters Phyllis Greengrass and Loretta Borg and two aunts, Mary Jane Kaplan and Margaret Legge.

Lyle was preceded in death by his parents Victor and Thelma Vosika and his sister Doris Elder and granddaughter Kenzi Ellsworth.
