Obituary

Kathy Raye Hutchison, age 80, formerly of Winner, South Dakota, went to be with the Lord on May 25,2025, at Fort Worth Hospice House in Texas. Kathy was born on December 7, 1944, in Alva, Oklahoma to Glen and Katherine (Lee) Hutchison. Her family relocated to South Dakota in 1948. She graduated from Presho High School, and furthered her education at South Dakota State University.

Kathy worked a number of jobs in the fields of banking and secretarial healthcare in various cities including Amarillo and Kansas City. The majority of her career was as a Trust Department associate at Farmers State Bank in Winner.

An active member of Winner Assembly of God Church during her time in South Dakota, Kathy served many years on the board in the role of secretary. At the time of her passing, she was a member of Grace Community Church in Fort Worth, Texas. Kathy loved listening to gospel quartet music, fishing on the Missouri River, and playing cards. Other hobbies included scrapbooking, making ceramics, and spending time with her dog(s). She enjoyed attending Winner's local high school sporting events with her friends. Her friends were an immense blessing to her. In 1993, Kathy retired from Farmers State Bank, and in 2010 moved to Bedford, Texas to be closer to family.

Dearest to her heart was her family, especially her great nieces and nephews. Kathy loved them like a faithful grandmother. She was a dedicated fan at their music and sporting events, as well as recitals and graduations. She truly loved them as if they were her own grandchildren. Kathy is survived by her brothers, Terry (Julie) Hutchison of Sioux Falls, SD, Travis (Maureen) Hutchison of Bedford, TX; nephews Randy Hutchison of Sioux Falls, Jonathan Hutchison and Jeremy (Misty) Hutchison, of Bedford; nieces Rhonda (Matthew) LaClave of Bedford, Nicole (Doug) Miller of Edmond, OK, and Brenda (Garrett) Stritzel of Carterville, IL. She also leaves behind great nephews Levi (Nishi) LaClave, Judah LaClave, Luke Stritzel, Tyler Stritzel, Hutch Miller, and River Hutchison, and great nieces Santanna LaClave, Aubrey Miller, and Starla LaClave, as well as dear friends who adored her. Of special mention are friends Wade and Yvon Burtz who were like family to her. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, and sister-in-law Roxanne Hutchison.

Kathy will be remembered as a courageous, independent woman with a firm faith in the Lord. As a polio survivor, she amazed her medical providers by what she was able to achieve. She was a strong woman who did not allow her physical challenges to hinder her desire to "go" and "do." She will be dearly missed. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m on June 3, 2025, at Winner Assembly of God Church, followed by a memorial service to honor the life of Kathy Hutchison. Travis Hutchison will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Winner City Cemetery. Following the burial service, a light luncheon will be held at the church.
