Judy Kay Edwards was born to Andrew and Ruby McCollam on September 9, 1944, and passed away April 4, 2023, in Winner SD at the age of 78.  Judy grew up in the Carter area but resided in Winner the majority of her life.

Judy had many hats throughout her life.  One of her joys was providing daycare to youngsters of the Winner area for many years.   She had a magical way with children.  She had a patience and understanding with all kids that allowed her to connect with them easily.  Judy would often receive graduation announcements from her daycare kids and she would talk about "one of my kids" graduating.  She loved them all and they loved her back.

Another great joy for Judy was working at Little Fellar in Winner.  Judy always had a smile and a hello when you walked through the door.  She made many friends while standing behind the counter and enjoyed all the local people coming and going.  She liked giving a hard time to anyone she knew could handle it.  Hunting season was a favorite for Judy as well.  She would talk about hunters that stopped by each year and how they were able to catch up.  Judy truly enjoyed everyone she worked with and made many life-long friends while there including Diann, Donna, Karen, and Brian.

In the summer you could often find Judy outside enjoying her flowers and garden.  She had a knack for growing her purple petunias and columbine.  She had a love/hate relationship with the strawberries as the war against the birds often escalated to sending small grandchildren out with the broom to chase them away.  She might even be found splashing in the pool with the grandkids or just having some ice cream with them.

Judy enjoyed nothing more than taking care of the people in her life.  Later in life, one of her greatest joys was fixing suppers & spending time with Cindi, Amanda & Dale. She was especially close with Amanda, teaching her how to bake and having "top secret"conversations. It gave her a chance to be a Mom again. She considered Cindi and those kids one of her greatest blessings.

Her relationship with Amanda was one of her greatest treasures. It was beautiful.

Judy's most prized work was being an amazing mom and grandma.  She always had great advice and would do anything for any of her kids.  She especially loved being a grandma and spoiling her grandkids shamelessly.  She was always the biggest supporter and fan of anything they were involved in and wanted to do.

She was an unselfish, kind, giving person.  She loved without end, without reason and without expectations.  She was our Mom, our Grandma & we will miss her.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband Ronnie and infant daughter Julie, parents Andrew and Ruby McCollam, brothers and sisters Lyle, Larry, Jean, Wilma .

Judy is survived by her children Richard (Beth), Ryan (Aryan), Justin (Rachelle), Cindi Edwards, Amy, & Allison.  Her grandchildren Samantha, Morgan, Teagan, and Kaine, Amanda and Dale, Rudy and Gus, Ruby and Rose, and Lacey, as well her great grandchildren Faith, Alexandrea, Gregary, and Remmie.
