Jacquelyn Kalenda, 80, of Winner, SD passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019 at the Winner Regional Long-Term Care Center in Winner, SD. Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 10 ^th , 2019 at 2:00PM at the United Methodist Church in Winner, SD. Burial will follow in the Winner City Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday.

Jacquelyn (Jackie) Rae Hanson Kalenda was born to John and Theresa (Knittel) Hanson in Wayne County, NE, on August 21 1938, the third of six children. She lived in the Wayne, NE, community until she was 16 years old and then the family moved to Gregory, SD. She graduated from Gregory High School and went on to National College of Business in Rapid City, SD, to a one-year secretarial program. After graduation she went to work at Miller Brothers Auto Company in Winner, SD. She then moved to Pierre, SD, in 1963. She met Alvin Kalenda and they were married in 1964. She moved back to the Winner area and worked at various jobs in the area. To this union, three children were born: RaeMalea Kalenda of Valentine, NE; Kaylyn (Dustin) Wright of Bellevue, NE; and Denice (Troy) Gehling of Grand Meadow, MN.

She is survived by her husband Alvin; daughters RaeMalea, Kaylyn, and Denice; sister-in-law Patricia Ann (Pat); brothers Darrel (Delores) of Rapid City, SD, Joe (Sally) of Aberdeen, SD, and Monte (Nancy) of Gillette, WY; sister Laurel Hanson (Tom Jones) of Billings, MT; and many other family members.

She is preceded in death by her parents John and Theresa Hanson; one brother, Dwayne Hanson; and one niece, Patty Lynn Hanson along with several other family members.
