Hazel Schmidt, 99, of Winner, SD passed away on Sunday July 15, 2018 at the Winner Regional Long-Term Care Center in Winner, SD. A memorial service will be held on Monday July 23, 2018 at 10:30AM at the Winner Methodist Church in Winner, SD. A one-hour visitation will be held prior to the memorial service. Burial will follow at the Winner City Cemetery in Winner, SD.

Hazel Schmidt was born March 30, 1919 in Royal, Nebraska to Scott and Rhoda Conner, one of ten children. She passed away at the Winner Regional Long-Term Care Center on July 15, 2018. She attended Ewing (NE) High School and graduated in 1937. She married Ralph Belmer in 1937 and to this marriage had three children: Sherry (Ron) Kramer, Lindy (Larry) Harkin, and Scott (Terri) Belmer. She also is survived by three grandchildren: Theresa (Steve) Rossow, Stefanie (Ed Islam) Daughters, Brian (Susan) Daughters and two great grandchildren: Ashley and Tyler Daughters, sister Betty Mechaley and brother Sam (Pat) Conner and many nieces and nephews.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph Belmer, husband Frank Schmidt, baby brother Scotty, sisters Ethel Hayes, Gladys Nothem, Dorothy Couch, Wilma Doty, Margie Schumacher, baby sister Shirley.

Hazel will be especially remembered for her love of dancing, playing cards and crocheting doilies for her family and friends.
