Geri Nespor, age 85, of Winner, South Dakota, passed away on Monday, February 2, at the Good Samaritan Luther Manor in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, surrounded by her loving family.  Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 11:00am at the First Christian Church in Winner, SD.  Burial will follow in the Winner City Cemetery.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to service.

Geri was born on June 11, 1940, in Lake Andes, South Dakota, to Henry and Louise Kuil. She graduated from Winner High School in 1958 and was united in marriage to Lawrance Nespor on June 15, 1958. To this union, two children were born, Julie and Jeffrey.

Geri and Lawrance lived and farmed near Hamill and Mosher before moving to Winner in 1982. Throughout her life, Geri worked at several jobs, but her favorite was working at the bakery, where she spent 20 years doing what she loved.

Geri was known for her kind heart and selfless nature, always thinking of others before herself. She loved to visit with people and taking care of others. She was a mother and grandmother to so many outside of her family and she loved that. She loved cooking and baking, and no one ever left her home hungry. Family favorites included her fried chicken and potato salad, while her grandchildren especially loved her sloppy joes.

Her family meant everything to her, and each one held a special place in her heart. Geri will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Geri is survived by her daughter, Julia (Chuck) Mechaley of Rapid City, South Dakota; her son, Jeffrey Nespor of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and her brother, Butch (Patty) Kuil of Winner, South Dakota.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrance Nespor; her parents, Henry and Louise Kuil; her sister, LaVonne Nelson; and her brothers, John and Donald Kuil.
