Frances Bachmann, age 78, of Winner, passed away on February 28, 2015 at the Winner Regional Healthcare Center. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Winner. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at the church with a 7:00 PM prayer service. Frances Jane (Bartels) Bachmann was born on April 27, 1936 in Winner, SD to John and Esther (Speckman) Bartels. She attended Winner High School and graduated in 1954. On April 23, 1956 she married Gerald Bachmann in the historical little brown Episcopal Church. To this union four children were born, Wayne, Derald, Joyce and Brian. She was employed by Bell Telephone in Winner as a telephone operator for over twenty years. She later kept books for the family business, Gerald Bachmann and sons. Frances was involved in many organizations. She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church, Business & Professional Women, Sunnyside Extension Club, Sunnyside 4-H Club (as a leader), VFW Ladies Auxiliary (lifetime member). She loved to bowl and played on different teams over the years. She had an extensive collection of antique teapots and teddy bears. She enjoyed meeting her aunts and cousins at the local restaurant for coffee and social time. Grateful for having shared her life are husband Gerald, sons Wayne (Denise), Derald (Melanie), all of Winner, Brian (Deb) of Pierre and daughter Joyce (Reynaldo) Cruz, Victoria, TX. Grandchildren: Kyle Winckler, Brian (Paige) Cruz, Stephanie (Rob) Garneau, John Cruz, Jennifer Cruz, Brielle and Brennan Bachmann. Great grandchildren: Ofelia Cruz, Ashley Garneau, Otto Garneau and Bobby Liserio. Brothers: Lloyd (Vicki) Bartels, Hamilton, IN; Raymond (Judy) Bartels, Winner; and sister: Judy Novotny of Winner. Brothers-in-law: Jim Burnham, and Don (Ruth) Bachmann, Winner. Sisters-in-law: Kathryn Brown, Wagner, SD; Betty (Loren) Cotsamire, and Louise Klein, both of Loveland, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, maternal and paternal grandparents. Sister-in-law Mildred Burnham, brothers-in-law: Caroll Brown, Herman Bachmann and Chris Bachmann, and Albert (Butch) Novotny.
