E velyn Whiting, age 89, of Winner, formerly of Hidden Timber passed away on Monday, August 08, 2016 at the Winner Regional Healthcare Facility. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the Mason Funeral Home in Winner. Burial will follow at the Winner City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-7:00 PM Friday, August 12, 2016 at the Mason Funeral Home in Winner.

Evelyn was born on January 25, 1927 near Clearfield, SD to Lee and Lucille (Shultz) Quick.   She graduated from Colome High School.  She taught school near Hidden Timber where she met Harold "Bud" Whiting who would soon become her husband.

They lived and ranched near Hidden Timber where they raised cattle and sheep.  They raised 4 children Robert "Bob", Patsy, Danny and June.

Evelyn had many talents and enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, quilting, gardening, raising sheep and carpentry projects.

Evelyn is survived by her children Patsy (Carl) Baker of Hidden Timber, SD, Danny Whiting of Sioux Falls, SD, June (Tracey) Stahl of Trosky, MN, Grandchildren: Shawna (Eric) Loudon, Corine Zepeda Delcambre, Greg (Heather) Baker, Jeff (Tara) Baker, Jesse (Jennifer) Jansen, and Krystine (Ethan ) Ernest and 13 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving Evelyn is her brother Marion Quick and sister Bette Lawler and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold "Bud", son Robert "Bob", sister Ann and brother Carl.
