Emily Wiedman, 40, was born on December 25, 1973 to Curtis and Loretta (Lunne) Wiedman in Pierre, SD. She passed away at her home in Mission, SD on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Emily grew up in Mission, SD and was surrounded by many cousins and friends. She attended elementary school and high school at Todd County in Mission. She graduated from Todd County High School in 1992. After high school, Emily worked at the Rosebud Casino and for the Rosebud Police Department. It was her love of children and her nurturing way that led her to her current position as a supervisor for the state of South Dakota's Department of Child Protective Services. Emily was blessed to have a wonderful extended family of cousins, aunts, uncles and the Lucille Barrera family. She is survived by her father Curtis Sr., of Mission, brother, Curtis Jr. (Michelle) of Madison, SD and brother Rocky (Jessie), of Rosebud, SD. She was a proud and loving aunt to her nephews, Rocky Jr. and Mitchel of Rosebud. Emily was also affectionately known as "Auntie Em" to two special girls, Cinimod and Lucy. Emily has a number of special angels in Heaven including her mother, Loretta, her grandparents Joe and Barbara Lunne and Emil and Mavis Wiedman. She was also preceded in death by several aunts and uncles. A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
