Obituary

Elaine Twite, 68, of Winner, SD passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025 at the Winner Regional Healthcare Facility.  A private family service will be held at a later date.

Elaine was born July 20, 1956 in Valentine, Nebraska to Harley and Luella Swanson.  She was the middle child and had two older brothers and a younger sister.  The family lived on a farm north of Mission, SD.

In 1973 she married Carl Moseman, and to this union 3 children were born.  After their children were born, they moved to Montana where they stayed for 21 years.  She then moved back to South Dakota to be near her elderly parents and other family.

In 1996 she married Merle Twite and they were married until he passed in 2010 of liver cancer.  She remained in Winner until her passing.

Elaine loved her various jobs, cooking in hunting camps, owning and managing her restaurants, but her favorite was law enforcement and being a 911 dispatcher in Montana, and later 911 dispatcher in Winner and helping her sons with carpentry.

The hobbies she loved the most were cooking, ceramics and gardening.  She said gardening and playing in the dirt was way more fun than housework!  She would spend endless hours outside maintaining her yard and planting flowers.  If her kids couldn't find her anywhere, they just needed to look in the garden.  She loved her family most of all, and was always planning a family gathering of some kind.  She had a 5-year-old great-grandson and a 2-year-old great-granddaughter that she was so very proud of and couldn't wait to cuddle when they came to see her.

She made wonderful memories with her family and she of course was their rock and the glue that held them all together.  A true Matriarch.  Her life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.

Elaine is survived by her children; Serena Walsh, Winner, SD, Roscoe Moseman, Winner, SD, Luke Moseman, Missoula MT, grandchildren; Melanie Moseman, Missoula MT, Tyrel Moseman, Winner SD, and Alivia Moseman Missoula MT.

She is also survived by her two great-grandchildren, father, two brothers, and her sister. She is preceded in death by her mother.
