Dorothy Hight, age 85, of Harlingen, TX, formally of White River, passed away on October 2, 2016. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at the Mason Funeral Home in Winner. Burial will follow at the Winner City Cemetery. A lunch will follow the burial at the American Legion in Winner.

Dorothy M. Hight, age 85, of Harlingen, Texas died October 2, 2016 surrounded by long-time friend and companion Phyllis Flach, loving family, and friends.

Dorothy was born in White River, South Dakota to Charles and Edith Hight, the youngest of 10 children. She attended college at Dakota Wesleyan University. After graduating, Dorothy taught in Ft. Pierre and Belle Fourche, South Dakota, and then in Canby and Bloomington, Minnesota. Upon retirement, Dorothy and Phyllis enjoyed fishing, gardening, and being outdoors. They made their way to Harlingen, which has been their home for over 20 years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Wesley United Methodist Church, 1406 East Austin Avenue, Harlingen, Texas 78550.

Dorothy will always be remembered for her kindness, her generosity, and humor. In addition to Phyllis Flach, Dorothy is survived by sister-in-law Ramona Hight, many nieces and nephews, and their families.

A funeral service for Dorothy will be held at Buck-AshCraft Funeral Home in Harlingen on October 6, 2016 at 10:00 A.M.

A funeral service will also be held for Dorothy in Winner, South Dakota on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at the Mason Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Winner Cemetery.
