Donald Dale King, Sr.

"Big Dale"

Was born May 5, 1950 in Indian Town to Pauline Shields-King and Frank John King, Sr.

Preceded in death by mother Pauline and father John.  Brothers Burton and John King, II.  Sisters Ruby King-Lapointe and Clarice King-Chasing Hawk, Cheromine Flying Hawk.  Infant sisters Caroline and Cordelia; Twins Sampson and Solomon.

Survivors are:  Sons Donald King Jr. and Tasha (Children Jace, Zayden, Zaylee, and Zaya); Davis Sr. and Samantha (Children Davis Jr., Phoenix, Gage, and Rainy); Carl and Jamie (Dalton); Daughter Kathleen (Children Wicahpi, Loni Rae, Kaitlyn, & Mathew)  Great grandchildren Carol, Timmy, Brendy, Landon, Grayson, Brooklyn, Kenny Jr., Arianna, Apollo, Kendra, Jordan, Leonidas.  Sisters Lavina King-Milk and Joyce King and many, many nieces and nephews.

Dale was a well-known fast pitch player who was a left handed catcher when he was younger.  He was well known for his speed and was known to steal bases all the way to home.  Dale was also a hunter and hunted with all his nephews.  When Dale younger he was a traditional dancer.  Dale was a spiritual leader at the Ptehincala Atawinciya Sundance for 38 years.  His Lakota name is Wigmuke Sapa "Black Rainbow."  Dale loved spending time with family, his friends, children, grandchildren, going fishing, and going to the drive in.  Dale had a following of young men who would gather every day at his house and just hang out with him.  They are going to greatly miss him as will his whole family.
