Debborah Hiles, 74, of Rapid City, SD, formerly of Winner, SD passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at the Avantara St. Cloud Memory Care Facility in Rapid City, SD.  Private family service will be held at a later date.

As a child, Debbie spent every summer with her favorite person, her Grama Mary, on the farm in Rockham, SD.

She graduated from Winner, SD was married and had her children Heather, Heidi, and Joshua. Many of her friends still reside in Winner.

She lived many places throughout her life. (might have been the gypsy in her)

The Black Hills of SD was her home for many years. She also lived in California for a while. But Alaska was her true love. She and partner, Lyle Fraizer (Fuzzy), built their own log cabin and made an incredible home for themselves. She returned to live in Wy for quite some time, again making lifetime friends there. She spent some time back in Winner, and then to Rapid City SD to a memory care unit for the rest of her days. To see the brilliance and beauty leave this incredible human was truly heartbreaking. Debbie loved to work with her hands! Throughout the years she made beautiful quilts, windchimes, wreaths (from hiking and finding treasures). But her construction of burl bowls and end tables was a true  wood smithing craftsmanship. They were magnificent!

Debbie loved to read and take pictures. She always kept these photos cataloged. So organized with everything. She loved to fish, hunt, hike and walk. She loved cooking (her fried chicken was a favorite), baking and canning. She loved a garden and house plants were her friends (they even had names).

Debbie was such a wonderful person and made friends wherever she was. Her laughter was the best sound on the planet!! And she loved "HARD" and forever. Weren't we all so lucky?

Debbie was preceded in death by her favorite person, her Grama Mary, Her Dad Don, Mother Donna and only son Joshua. In addition to many Aunts and Uncles on both sides of her family

Debbie's big brother, Danny, was truly her best friend and partner in a lifetime of shenanigans!! Oh, the stories!

Debbies little sister Diana admired Debbie as no other person could. She taught Diana what the true meaning of "Motherly" love was.

Debbie's daughter Heidi has been her caretaker for several years and has made every hard decision that a daughter could ever have to make. Heidi's dedication to her Mom and her best interests were simply unmeasurable. Love is a true blessing.

Debbie was admired, loved, and cherished by all who met her. Friends were her greatest gift. If you were a friend, you were a friend for life, no exceptions!!

Debbie is survived by her daughters, Heather Potter and Heidi (Todd) Novotny;  Granddaughters, Erin, Shaneyl, Chesney, Brekkyn, Tayla, Braxtyn, and Otillia; Grandsons, Brailen and Tristan; Great Granddaughters, Aivery and Wren; Great Grandsons, Kane, Hoyt, Hudson, Kylar, Revel, and Bentley.  Her brother, Danny (Alexis) Hiles; his sons, Alex, and Patrick (Sammie) and Grandsons Weston and Jace.  Her sister, Diana (Kevin) Farmer, her children, Gina (Tim) and James (Lindsey) and Grandsons, James, Lyric, Oliver, Cian, Andrew, Boden and many friends and family.
