Obituary


A Celebration of Life for Carolyn will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the White River Event Center in White River.

Carolyn Christine McKee passed away at home January 18th, 2017.  She was born in Murdo, SD, on October 11, 1938 to Donald Cramer Bryan and Minnie (Brunson) Bryan.

Carolyn grew up on a ranch North of White River.  Carolyn started her education at the Elementary School in White River and graduated at White River high school.  She enjoyed all her classes, cheerleading and dance.  Carolyn continued her education at the University of South Dakota for one year.  She also attended classes from Black Hills State University and Sinte Gleska University where she earned an Associate's Degree.  Carolyn married Richard McKee on December 9, 1958 and were blessed with two children, Terry McKee and Rita (Jim Lolley).  Carolyn "Gram" loved her grandkids, Louis McKee, Parker (Mollie) McKee, Tricia (Christian Morrison), Tracy (Will Newbold) and Tanner (Shelby) Lolley; Louis Anthony, Emma Nicole, Sharesse Rose, Jalen Scott, Remedy Christine, Kelsey Lynn, Hunter Patrick, Jazlyn Christine, Madelyn May, Palmer Victoria, Luke Wayne, and Sutton Elena.  Carolyn was always helping the people around her.

Carolyn was the local AVON lady, and worked at the school for over 31 years. Carolyn was a Wife, Sister, Mother, grandmother and friend who loved and helped the people around her.  She loved her family unconditionally and spent her life taking care of them.  Her favorite pastimes were setting cat fish lines on the big white, dancing, reading, gardening, swimming, playing cards, cooking, crafting, listening to music, watching her shows, clipping articles from the newspaper, sharing stories with those around her and making blankets for all her grandchildren.

Survivors include her Brothers Charles Bryan, Larry Bryan, Tony Bryan and Wayne Bryan, Sister Sharon Letellier, Son Terry McKee, Daughter Rita (Jim Lolley), 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, Preceding her in death are Father Donald Cramer Bryan, Mother Minnie (Brunson) Bryan, Husband Richard, Brothers Donald Bryan and Willard Bryan, Sisters Madelon White, Pat Harris, and Lola Herman, grandson Holden Morrison, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
