Carol Rose Farmer Valandra , 82, of Mission, SD passed away in Sioux Falls, SD on Friday, December 7th, 2018.  Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 14th, 2018 at 10:00AM at the Father Paul Hall in Mission, SD.  Burial will follow in the Trinity Episcopal Cemetery in Mission, SD.  Wake service will begin Wednesday, December 12th, 2018.

Carol Rose Farmer-Valandra

Was born on December 4, 1936 in Bad Nation, South Dakota to Pete and Lucy (Janis) Farmer. She is the oldest out of the three kids. Her siblings are Robert "Happy" Farmer and Theresa Ann Farmer. Carol loved life. She grew up out to the country. She loved riding horse, loved helping her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, everything life could give. She married Vetal "Boney" Valandra and had 6 kids. Dave (Jae) Valandra, Dennis Valandra Sr., Debra (Sam) Valandra, Darlene Valandra, Donna Valandra, Doyle (Becki) Valandra. She also has her youngest April Farmer with Howard Fuller Sr. She also raised her nephew Mike Haukaas. Throughout the years Carol worked at the Delta Marie Center as a care taker. She was a house mother at the BIA Dormitory. She was also the assistant cook at the North Elementary, RST Antelope center and the summer food program. She enjoyed laughing, her coffee and took pride in her yard decorations. You could always see her sitting out her porch with a smile on her face. She had multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She is proceeded into death by her mother, father, children, and numerous brothers and sisters.
