Carol (Vedral) Larson, 82 of Washington State, formerly of Winner, SD passed away on June 17, 2026. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Mason Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Winner City Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Carol Larson was born on February 4, 1944 in Winner and passed away at the St Francis Hospital in Federal Way, Washington on June 17, 2026.
Carol graduated from Winner High School in 1962. After graduation, she moved to Butte, Montana and married Lefty Larson. They had one son, Rodney.
Carol had a love for animals. She would buy food for all the strays that hung around her home, which included squirrels, ducks, cats, raccoons, etc. She loved her dogs. She always had at least four Chihuahuas at one time. She handled horses well. She was known as a horse whisperer.
She also was a good cook. She made the best fried chicken.
Carol worked at Cardinal Health in Seattle for over 20 years. She worked at the University of South Dakota in Vermilion for several years. After she retired, she worked part-time at Goodwill.
Carol is survived by her son Rodney of Pierre, South Dakota, her companion Steve Swindell of Federal Way, Washington her brother Marvin (Paula) Vedral, one niece, Robin McNulty, her uncle Verloyn (Linda) Bettcher and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Edith (Bettcher) Vedral.
