Carol was born August 25th, 1948 to Amiel and Stella Olson (Nelson), who had eight children, Ken, Al, Marv, Larry, Lorraine, Don, Carol and Dale. Carol grew up south of Winner, South Dakota on the farm, where many family gatherings were held and memories made. She attended local country schools. On February 24th, 1968, Carol married Bill Boerner and made their home in Winner South Dakota. Carol and Bill had two children, Mike of Winner, SD (Georgette) and Sylvia of Pierre, SD (Ron Nelson).
Carol and Bill spent their early years farming throughout Tripp County and then working and raising their family in Winner. Carol could always be found at a coffee shop or a thrift store, two of the biggest loves of her life, besides her family. Carol was always a talker and loved visiting with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. In later years, Carol enjoyed sitting in her front yard looking at her yellow roses from the farm she grew up on. She would sit and visit with anyone who stopped by, and of course offered them a cup of coffee. Carol was a member of the Winner Methodist Church.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bill, two children, Mike (Georgette) and Sylvia (Ron Nelson), grandchildren, Melissa, Lance, Dani, Gennefier, Amanda and Matthew. Great grandchildren, Serenity and Rhyan (Melissa), and two brothers, Don and Dale Olson and many nieces and nephews.
