Florence Miller age 89 of Winner, SD passed away Thursday, June 3, 2010 at the Elder Inn in Winner, SD.

Florence (McCollom) Miller was born to Mac & Mamie McCollom on April 26, 1921 in Edmonds Co, SD. She was one of six children. She grew up in SD, attending schools in Northville and Cresbard, SD. She married Virgil Miller on June15, 1939. They shared 57 years together. To this union were two daughters, Connie Levi and Virginia Heilman.

Florence was a bookkeeper working various jobs over the years. She worked the longest for John Carlson Construction in Winner, SD. Florence was also a very good cook making family dinners and rolls, pies and chocolate chip cookies. She filled her idle time with crocheting and word puzzles. She loved having her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren around her.

She is survived by her daughters Connie (Royden) Levi, Conrad, MT and Virginia (Floyd) Heilman, Winner, SD, her grandchildren: Mike (Cindy) Levi; Pam (Monte) Mayes; Peggy Tarrell; Chad Peterson all of Winner, SD; Patricia (Mike) Stauffacher, Sioux Falls, SD; Kristie Levi; Terry Fuchs, Corinth, MS, Great grandchildren: Michael; Michelle; and Mackenzie Levi; Davey and Fallon Culp; Tiffany (Dusty Anderson) Mayes; Nashara Klein, great great-grandchildren: Dalton Culp and Chase James, one sister Maxine Stemper and one sister-in-law Helen Sobek.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Virgil, her brothers, Herb and Ed, two sisters, Lucille and Mae, and one great grandson, Joshua Mayes.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 9 at 10:30 AM at Mason Funeral Home in Winner. Burial will be in the Winner Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, June 8 from 4-8 PM with a prayer at 7 PM at the funeral home.
