Geraldine Schwinler, 75, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2010, at the Brookings Hospital in Brookings, SD. Private family services will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, February 19, at Mason Funeral Home in Winner. Burial will be in the Winner Cemetery.

Geraldine A. Rehak was born on January 6, 1936 in Colome, SD to John and Bea (Kostal) Rehak. She passed away surrounded by her family Monday, February 15, 2010 in Brookings, SD at the age 75.

Born in Colome, Gerry as she was known to her friends and family grew up on the farm with her siblings a lively feisty young woman who excelled at track and loved dancing. She married Lyle Schwinler in 1951 adopting two children; Richard of Hot Springs, SD and Wendi of Brookings, SD.

Geraldine lived her adult life as a hardworking farm wife later becoming a successful business woman as the owner of the Wagon Wheel Trailer Court. She retired approximately 15 years ago to enjoy life with her friends and family.

Two years ago she made the move to Brookings to join her daughter and grandchildren. She lived her life a dedicated daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and to her great joy great-grandmother.

Her memories will be carried on by her siblings Gene (Lucille), Pat (Clarence), Janet, and Doug (Pat) as well as her children Rick (Sherry) and Wendi, her grandchildren Laurie (Craig), John (Dawn), Mercedes (Matt), Jackson, Celena, Terry and Joshua, and by her precious great grandchildren Allison, Riley, Peyton, Anora, and Carson.

Geraldine is rejoining her beloved father John, mother Bea, sister Betty (Mel) and brother Jack.
