Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Winner, SD. Burial will be in the Winner Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, January 22, from 6-7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Mason Funeral Home in Winner, SD.

Bonnie Jane Dreyer, 76, of Winner, S.D., died Jan. 20, 2010 at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D. due to complications from surgery.
She was born Dec. 30, 1933 to Margaret (Waters) and Clarence Smith in Winner. S.D. She lived on the family farm near Witten, S.D. before moving with her family to Witten where they resided for a time in the back room of her father’s business before moving to a home in Witten. She attended public school in Witten and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Witten, where she was also baptized. On Nov. 25, 1949 she married Howard Dreyer in Winner, S.D. The couple traveled throughout South Dakota working road construction and raising a family before settling in Winner. She spent most of her life as a homemaker but worked for a time for John Carlson, Inc. and Husky Oil in Winner, S.D. One of Bonnie’s joys in life was cooking for her family and making sure everyone felt welcome and special in her home.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Howard, of Winner; four daughters Lavaun Turnquist of Aberdeen, S.D.; Dixie (Galen ) Nilson of Kearney, Neb.; Jackie (Jim) Carlon of Pierre; Jan (Brian) Schaeffer of Winner, S.D.; one son Doug (Brenda) Dreyer of Warner, S.D.; one sister Belva Smith of Rapid City; 13 grand children and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two great grandchildren.
